[Event Notice] 'China-Nigeria Good Partners - 2026 Nigeria Chinese and English Singing Competition' is now open for registration!
According to the Nigeria China Cultural Center: In September 2024, the leaders of China and Nigeria successfully met during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Beijing Summit, jointly announcing that bilateral relations will be upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership, opening a new chapter in the development of the two countries' relationship. The year 2026 marks the 55th anniversary of China-Nigeria diplomatic relations and the "China-Africa Year of Cultural Exchange," bringing new opportunities for cultural exchanges between China and Nigeria.
Friendship between countries depends on the closeness of the people, and people become close through mutual understanding. Singing is an important art form that crosses language and cultural barriers, conveys emotions, and strengthens friendship. This competition aims to use singing as a medium to create a platform for Chinese and Nepalese people to showcase their talents, exchange cultures, and build friendships, helping both peoples appreciate and understand each other better, deepen mutual connections, and lay a solid foundation of public support for advancing the China-Nepal comprehensive strategic partnership.

This competition is a solo singing contest, divided into two categories: the 'Chinese Song Group' and the 'English Song Group.' Each contestant can only participate in one of the categories. Each category will have three rounds to determine the first, second, and third prizes, with corresponding cash rewards and award certificates stamped by the two organizing units. To encourage mutual understanding and friendship between Chinese and Nigerian people, special extra points will be given during the scoring to Chinese contestants singing English songs and Nigerian contestants singing Chinese songs.
Contestants need to prepare their own accompaniment music for their performance. In the preliminaries, semifinals, and finals, they must sing different songs (they can’t switch competition tracks halfway).
Please have each unit submit the list of registered participants to Mr. Li Wanglong at China Harbour (Nigeria) Co., Ltd. by 12:00 noon (Nigeria time) on Friday, October 30, 2026. The organizers will determine the number of participants from each unit who can enter the next round based on the total registrations and will provide feedback to each unit on the same day.
