According to the Madrid Chinese Cultural Center, from October 14 to 18, 2026, with the strong support of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the Madrid Chinese Cultural Center organized a seven-member Spanish art delegation to visit Shanghai and participate in the 25th China Shanghai International Arts Festival and related exchange activities.

During the visit, the delegation engaged in art observation, professional seminars, industry dialogues, and on-site visits. They attended the opening ceremony of the International Performing Arts Conference and related dialogues, watched performances such as the new acrobatic and physical dance theater "The Bond of Gravity" and the new martial arts Beijing-Kun opera "Nie Yinniang," and visited cultural sites and city landmarks like the China Art Palace, Fotografiska Center for Photography, Yuyuan Garden, and City God Temple. They gained an in-depth understanding of the development of Chinese culture and arts, experienced the charm of Shanghai's city culture, and promoted cultural and artistic exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.

Members of this visit came from professional fields including Spanish art festivals, film and television production, media communication, digital entertainment, and cross-cultural content creation. After returning to Madrid, several members expressed their gratitude to the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism for its careful planning and arrangements. They said the visit provided new ideas for understanding the Chinese performing arts industry, expanding professional contacts, and exploring future cooperation, and they look forward to further exchanges with Chinese peers.

Encouraging Spanish art professionals to participate in the Shanghai International Arts Festival is a successful practice by the Madrid Chinese Cultural Center to make full use of this year's "Ministry-City Cooperation" mechanism and to serve as a window for international cultural exchange. In the future, the Center will continue to strengthen ties with the Spanish art community and mainstream cultural institutions, building an ongoing bridge for cultural and artistic exchange and cooperation between China and Spain in areas such as performance exchanges, art exhibitions, professional dialogues, and the integration of culture and tourism.
